Compressibility of granular fluids

The effect of granular pressure on the fluctuation volume fraction is investigated experimentally in a gas–solid flow system. Granular compressibility, defined by response fractions pressure, also measured. It found that there exists critical beyond which transition from coexistence liquid-like phase and gas-like to homogenous fluids takes place. heterogenous characterized an abrupt change compressibility. To describe characteristic hydrostatic model formulated considering both collisional non-collisional interactions. predictions agree well with experimental results.
